
Kulea Villages is a Christian non-profit organization on a mission to equip families in Kenya & Tanzania with the skills needed to care for orphans and vulnerable babies and children at home.
We support babies & children!
Through Child Sponsorship, we cover school fees until a child's parent or caregiver can. We also provide crisis support, depending on the child's situation and need. Our social workers check frequently on the condition of each child, his/her caregiver and the home environment. Then we customize our support based on needs. Our goal is to keep sponsored children with a family member even if mom has died and to provide crisis support and education until the caregiver can.​


In the Maisha Matters program, babies are referred to Kulea Villages for formula support. Weekly we check and weigh all babies and teach preventive health lessons (hygiene, disease, first aid & nutrition) to caregivers. In addition we mitigate various areas of crisis through support (food parcels, mattress, rent support, etc.)
In our Child Sponsorship program, social workers determine when a caregiver is ready for business training. Once a baby in our Maisha Matters program is stable and no longer mal-nourished we begin business training for the caregiver. Upon completion of our business training we help the caregiver set up a small business by an initial investment for things like charcoal to sell, soap making supplies, etc. Our social workers then check on the business a week later, two weeks later, and so on to support the new business owner.
