There are over 5 million orphans in Tanzania and Kenya.
Without help many will never attend school.
Often they are hungry.
Some of our children have been found abandoned, abused or living alone.
Some managed to survive a few days or weeks alone, but were fearing death.
FAMILY
We help families care for their child at home. Whether a single mother or a relative of the child, we help with school costs and food or medical care as needed until the family can manage independently. We provide small business training & set ups towards family financial independence.
NUTRITION
We run a baby project called Maisha Matters, providing free formula and much more for malnourished infants who have lost mom or whose mother is not producing enough breast milk. We see about 70 babies each week. Visit our Maisha Matters page to know more.
EDUCATION
Education is critical for a child to not repeat the cycle of poverty. We help families keep their child in school through sponsorship. Without support, children may drop out early to work doing manual labor, or even digging in the trash for something to sell. Sponsors cover school costs until families can.
Kulea is Swahili for to raise up a child. We believe the
family is the best place to
raise a child so we provided what is needed to make that possible. An orphanage should be a last resort.
